This is a screenshot of the UniMelb MD Discovery webpage, with some of the words hidden by orange boxes.

The numbers indicate which letter you need to extract from the text hidden by the boxes. Spaces don't count. For example, the first orange box (with the number 1) hides the word "Foundation", from which you extract the 1st letter F. This is a basic technique known as "indexing", and will recur as a tool in many puzzles.
